What is Medicare?

Medicare is health insurance for people 65 years or older, under age 65 with certain disabilities, and any age with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) or Lou Gehrig's disease.

When Should I Enroll?

You can enroll in Medicare around your 65th birthday-three months before your birthday month, during your birthday month or three months after. If you have a disability, you can enroll during a seven-month window around your 25th month of disability. Also, Medicare has an open enrollment period from October 15 through December 7.
